Did you watch those 2 videos I posted above with Mike Dolce?
He said Chael drank 16 pounds of fluid the morning of that video interview + whatever food he ate, and took 9 pisses/pee breaks in the last 4 hours.
All of the guys he works with in the UFC have always made weight, so Chael wont be any different.

yeah i bet he will make the weight as well, but even Sonnen said it's not normal for him to be 20 pounds over in the day before the weigh in and that hes in for a lot of pain doing the cutting
i really hope it doesn't affect him, cause i don't wanna see a gassed out Sonnen, but his cardio wasn't very good vs. Bisping for a 3 round fight .. if the cutting fucks him up, he is in trouble for a 5 rounder vs. Anderson

Anyway nobody wants to bet against me? ill take Silva on sportsbook odds
You'll find a hard time finding someone to bet against Silva. Cos even the Sonnen guys think Silva's gonna win. They just dont wanna say it.
Silva wins this at first round. Sonnen cannot do a repeat of the first fight.
Edit: ok lets give Sonnen some credit. Silva wins on the third round.
I'd put $20 on Sonnen to win if someone wanted to take the bet via PayPal transfer, and give me original odds.
I think Sonnen will win via UD.
----------
only paypal? what odds u want
I'll take the same odds as Bilat, +295 on Sonnen. (Cant fight the articles that listed Sonnen higher, it was originally +425.)
I can only send through PayPal cuz I don't play poker, and Wells Fargo charges $15 automatically for any incoming transfers from banks other than Wells Fargo, doesn't matter if you transfer $50 or $5000. So, If I won our bet and you wanted to send me the money from your Bank of America account to my Wells Fargo account, I automatically get charged -$15 from the money you sent me, that's not counting the charge you get charged for sending the money.
lol not at 295, Sonnen is at 240 and silva is -270 so i offer middle grounds, ill pay you +255 if sonnen wins
Well, I said I wanted "original" odds. I couldn't find the original odds, so I chose the odds Bilat took, which I think is reasonable. If you're willing to give me +255, you shouldn't have a problem with +295.
Nope my offer is +255, also its open to others too

bruce lee was pretty much the first modern day legit well rounded mixed martial artist.
he trained in jiu jitsu, judo, wrestling and spent lots of time on strength training. he really was decades before his time and people dont give him enough credit for being a great fighter. actually in one of his movies (i believe enter the dragon) he escaped an armbar by biting someone lol.
i can pretty much guarantee bruce's skills would have made him a top 50 MMA fighter in most divisions today. of course he was way smaller and didnt have as advanced training in all aspects of MMA as we do today, but he took the lifestyle very serious and as i said before was decades ahead of his time.
Nobody is saying he wasnt ahead of his time or that he wouldnt be good if he trained modern techniques, but he is simply no match for an MMA fighter with his current knowledge, he had the right idea but obviously isnt ready he would get wrestled fucked by any so-so wrestler.
What do you mean a top 50mma fighter in most division? meaning that he would be a top 50 heavy weight? are u freaking serious?
yes baal. i think a 120 pound man would be a top 50 fighter in a 265 pound division. /sarcasm
i meant more his skillset would have been very good in most MMA divisions assuming he was an average sized fighter in that division. if he just time traveled from his peak condition to today he would get exploited by too many guys pulling guard or LNP'ing him. but i think he could have very easily been an anderson silva type talent in the non existent 115 pound division had he joined a top MMA camp and trained for 3+ years

Im def a nutrition fish but how can drinkin liters and liters of fluid make u lose 9 kilos overnight ? I guess you lose it all in piss and sweat but 9 kilos is so much damn
theres some mixed messages with this sonnen weight cut thing, he interviews saying he is really tired and needs to cut 20 lbs saying he is gonna suffer but get it done and dolce is like 'ya this is all part of the plan, easy cut'

bruce lee is the person Anderson Silva aspires to be, and people say he'd do just ok?. i think he'd be pretty bad ass with conditioning, sick discipline and powerful striking. not saying he'd just bulldoze everyone in his weight class but won't just be any gatekeeper for sure.
Because of his sick training regimen, body, well roundedness and philosophies. Not because he still believes Bruce to have been a more able fighter than him.
And here's the original, frivolous quote to start off this discussion:
"If he were still alive he would beat all of these guys even at the age of 60!"
So you see what we were up against.

in welterweight/lightweight def not because of too many wrestlers. but just think of bruce lee like an upgraded stephen thompson. he would have had a lot of hype and would be able to win some fights. of course he wouldnt be able to beat ANY ufc fighters because he was just too small, but if he had the same exact skillset and was an average sized guy in those divisions he would have been able to beat some guys. like theres no way dan stittgen beats him, or some of the other clowns that make it on UFC roster. its pretty amazing how much the talent levels drop off in every division that isnt 155/170 after 30-40 guys
but yea obviously if he just teleported he would get exploited hard by most guys. his side skills were probably the equivalent of a 10 year old wrestler, a 2 stripe white belt in jiu jitsu and a middle belt (green?) in judo so he knew enough basics to survive vs guys who completely suck and to avoid bad positions but still he would be <5% vs any decent wrestler.
but dont underestimate him. his first student was a brown belt+ in judo so im sure he helped bruce with those techniques a ton since bruce thought the traditional martial arts were bullshit in fighting and really branched out. of course he couldnt compete with any top guys so people like bilat are delusional, but people who are just bashing on bruce would probably be surprised at how well rounded he was.

one last note on bruce. think about it this way. imagine if a .1/.25 grinder played HU against johnny moss in NL. what do you think would happen?
thats basically the equivalent of a d1 college wrestler just starting MMA today fighting bruce lee. bruce would just be outclassed. too easy to exploit. but i do think bruce would have the ability to beat the equivalent of some UFC level guys (if they were similar sizes of course) who didnt have great wrestling or jiu jitsu.
anyway, for those of you looking to bet on sonnen, you better do it now cause the line is going to plummet. if you are looking to bet on silva just wait a while.
i also think there may be some value on chael by submission. if you can get it at +1600 or so, that has to have some value. my guess is sonnen wins by TKO <2%, sonnen wins by decision ~15-20% and sonnen wins by sub 10%. id imagine the sub line is +EV

I know what you mean by that if he became larger to represent those weight divisions he would be as good as he would in his own body
but I don't even think that's true. I sincerely doubt that many of his strengths (extreme agility, flexibility, stamina and speed) could be maintained even half decently if you increase his size. He'd become a far worse fighter if anything in ability/weight.
I believe even Dan Stittgen would be -300 vs Bruce Lee
(if he had been a UFC fighter all along with x results, obviously he'd have random shenanigan odds in his first fight since fanboys would be unpredictable)
and that Dan Stittgen would at worst lose his first fight but be able to win the next 300 simply by taking him down after some slight damage on the feet.

The problem is that there isn't a fighter in the UFC that doesn't know how to half decently maintain top control vs a Jeet Kune Do black belt.
