I gotta agree. But you have to admit Sonnen made a good job getting under Silva's skin with all the trash talking and insults. Will this make Silva emotional and fight worse than he usually does? Maybe. But one thing's for sure, somewhere out there in Brazil he is psyching himself that this is THE fight. It is not about the title or the UFC anymore. This is not about the sport. This is martial combat. When Silva gets out there he will be in a mindset not to win, he will be out there to kill. Sonnen just unleashed something in Silva that will show what he's really capable of.

I wouldnt be surprised if steroid boy Sonnen wont show up for this fight. They might say he got 'injured' but actually he is going home with his tail between his legs.

Thing is this isnt about having which background you have as an MMA fighter. I think any background can win as long as the fighter makes the right adjustments. Once you get to compete at MMA, your background is gone. The fighter has to take everything from karate, TKD, BJJ, kali, pro wrestling, elky's batshit insane punching style, etc.. and absorb and utilize which tools from different fighting styles makes sense to him and use what works for him.

At MMA, the best fighters keep evolving, which makes this sport so fun to watch. Other fighters who fail to do so lose and gets left behind.

^ yup. Not all. If you think Elky's punching style gels well with your style, then by all means use it. The thing is it is up to you to find out. Although outside inputs from trainers/coaches/masters would certainly helpful as they have the experience. But all in all when you're out there fighting, its all you.

Nope, but basing the outcome of Silva vs Sonnen 2 only from their last fight is dumb, really dumb.
