in one side you have one guy with obvious strategies and game plan, his only weapon is the takedown.
and in the other side a complete fighter who is practicing specifically for that guy...
I don't see Anderson losing. |

Can't wait to see all the Sonnen fanboys get disappointed when Silva dances around him the whole fight and knocks him out with one punch/kick. |

Fight probably will be closer this time since Silva is probably not going to take chances by being a cocky douche in this fight like he usually does. I'm rooting for Chael since he has the same fearlessness as the Diaz brothers, Fedor, etc. He always keeps the pressure on, moving forward and not afraid to get hit. It's too bad that if Chael wins, the UFC will probably give Silva a rematch just to make it a trilogy and the fact that no one else really poses a significant threat to Silva in the MW division atm. |

who do you think qualifies as high level wrestlers? Only Chael Sonnen? Silva just clowned around with these guys. You base your criteria the last time they fought but Silva was sick and it was probably his worst performance in a fight (stylistically), Sonnen did not force him to fight bad as I've explained in my previous post why he wasn't really up to par with his TD.
Simply put Silva put out his worst performance and still came out on top with a finish no less. I'm sure Silva wants some questions erased. Im sorry but that Bisping fight was really a bad decision and Sonnen looked like Mark Coleman there. |
This is dumb, really dumb. |

I don't know anyone who in there right mind would vote against Silva... Take all his ego aside, I'd still rank him as the best pound for pound fighter beside GSP... This guy talks a lot of smack, but I doubt he'll deliver. |

What's besides GSP mean. Silva was #1 ahead of GSP even before GSP got injured. I think Jones and Aldo have very real arguments behind them to be put over GSP depending on GSP's comeback performance |

Aldo hasn't beaten anyone yet the other 3 guys have beaten (destroyed) some very top tier competetion. A really cool fight would be something like Aldo vs Edgar, that would earn him a lot of respect |

Yeah probably. But it's not like he's faced useless fighters. And he's mostly demolished them too. His division just isn't as deep as the 170-205 I think. I mean...can you name anyone at 145 you'd like to see him face that has a credible threat to him? I don't think I can. I'd like to see him vs Edgar too once Edgar realizes Ben Henderson is just too big for him. |

Silva will win kneeing Sonnen in the face head on while Sonnen attempting to take Silva down.
He's been training/practicing this move with Steven Seagull. |

Aside from Dan Henderson, who rarely* uses his wrestling since he can usually keep it standing, what wrestler, let alone what high level wrestler, has Anderson Silva beat since he's been in the UFC?
I say "in the UFC", because he's been in the UFC since 2006 and has only fought 2 wrestlers in Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen. I also like to keep things recent within the last 3 years of a fighters career, since trying to say "this guy beat this guy 6 years ago means he can do this and that to somebody else" is irrelevant.

Didn't it occur to everyone Silva was playing mind games in the first fight with Sonnen. Silva clearly knew what he was doing in that fight. He played a huge gamble of a match and it paid off.
Silva was making Sonnen think he couldn't lose then made his move when the opportunity came. It came in the last round at the last minute and was a huge huge gamble and it worked. Brilliant job by Silva.
I wonder what he'll think of next this time. |

Sonnen talks a lot of shit, some were entertaining and I both loved and hated him for it. But under all that talk and 'confidence' is a fear that he'll get owned again like the first fight. Pretty sure Sonnen knows he got owned and he got owned big. From the first round until the submission. He was playing Silva's game and didnt realize it until it was all over.
That is why he's so goddamned pissed. |

But I dont think Silva can take on Sonnen pound for pound. Sonnen is the better athlete. But one edge Silva has over Sonnen is...

Also something to factor in with the bisping fight.
Leading up to the fight there was a lot of talk about Sonnen having a really tough weight cut. If you look at this photo of his sunken cheeks they were probably true. Looks very drained.

It'll be interesting to see how he looks day of the weigh ins. |
