I'm trying to figure out how to know when to 1,2, or 3 barrel without the nuts. It's really hard for me.
If you could take a look at a few bluffing spots I'd realllly appreciate it. Hopefully I'll gain a better understanding.
Royhadad(Hand #3 - Hand #6) 3 bet me min constantly(Almost 50%)
Hand1: Was this a good spot to 3 barrel in a vacuum?

3 barreling HU is VERY different from 6-max, also more relevant, since it immediately affects how you are gonna play future hands (where in 6-max, you may not play a hand with this opponent for a long time). You can technically 3 barrel all these hands and its not terrible, the most relevant part is how are you gonna adjust based on results.
Hand #2 for example is super relevant, I would immediately start CRing thin for value after this hand (with like A7o+, and 3 barrel jam). Weather or not he folds 66 is not a huge deal.
Last hand for example, he didn't CR turned 2 pair - which means you can value bet very thin on turns vs this player (even on scarecards) and he wont ever CR you, so for example if you bet a hand like Jx for value, if he CR me on the turn, I would likely call call in the future, what is also means is you can consider re-shoving semi-bluffs on the turn vs him if he CR the turn (which is 100% the opposite of conventional wisdom, everyone bet folds religiously these days, which vs this opponent, would be a clear mistake)
The only mistake you can make in HU is not adjusting correctly and quickly |

I love the way all those hands was played, excpet for K2 i'd just fold pre
u couldn't do much with 67s vs Q9o either since villain has lots of made two pair/str8 hands on the turn in his range, so check-calling for flush as you did is a better option here, must donk river if hit it |

In your first hand, it seems villain wasn't holding a big pp pf. You, on the other hand, may very well be representing a hand like AKo. Maybe the villian has two big cards with his call.
The flop is where you come in trouble for my point of view. Considering what your villain might be putting you on, I would overbet the pot on the flop. If this guy is a gambler, he probably won't mind seeing if his hand might improve, so by over betting the flop, you really make it hard for him to justify shooting for another spade. Also, by over betting the flop, he might sense that you are trying to scare him away in case you a drawing, which might suggest you are holding a big pp.
If you can bluff this guy, I would go all in on the ace to represent trips. Another spade didn't fall, so there goes all those outs he had. If you feel this guy has an edge, check fold.
In the second hand, it's not too believable you actually have something when you cr the flop. If you had reraised pf, it might be more believable you have an ace and are trying to scare away a flush draw. If you had landed a straight, why would you be trying to scare him away? If it's not too believable you have an ace, and the other two cards are super low, playing pp here wouldn't be such a bad idea. Your opponent might even by trying to represent trips here by calling you.
With your turn bet, when he calls you, he's pot committed. If I were you, I would, again, go all in on the turn (put him all in, more like it). He's at 44 bucks when he calls your cr. He's going to have to gamble with going all in on the turn unless he's got the nutsiest nuts he could have. |

i didn't read other responses cuz there's too many hands here, sorry but...
1st hand, it's your sizing that sux. bet 1/2 pot on flop, 1/2 pot on turn, jam river. that spot is fine to 3 barrel all in.
2nd hand. i much rather c/r stuff like 33, 22, 56, 67, 78 than diamonds cuz its so obvious u have diamonds when they get there. sizing on flop is fine, turn is a little too big, river give up is good cuz u r getting called super often. i much rather just reverse float the flop w/ this holding, hope he chks back the turn then bet the river. if the turn is one that connects relatively well with the board like a 5, 6, 7, or 8 you can c/r the turn and jam the river repping 2prs, flopped sets, and straights. much better way to play the hand.
3rd hand, sizing way way way too big on flop again. this turn u should barrel through and shove every river that doesn't connect with the board.--non A,K,Q,J,T,9s..
last one is okay, sort of a brute force barrel that says "hey i know u know i can't rep much but you don't have very many hands stronger than Jx in your range so lets see who blinks first" ... but at 50nl ... maybe he doesnt think any of that and just thinks "i have a pr, okay i call". who knows. u r probly better off backing away from that spot. in general. just firing 2 is good since he should have very few Ax in his range, you got unlucky he had specifically A6 cuz if he had like K6 he is folding the turn. |
