Whatever you decide on, that will become normal for you and your brain will acclimatize.

If you watch porn that REALLY turns you on, at first it will feel really good. If you keep doing that,
then your brain will reduce its sensitivity, so it will feel at best normal. Then when there is a hot girl

To answer your question: is it OK to do 'boring faps' if I want to reset, you need to answer two questions:

A. What do you want to be a normal level of fapping for you?
B. Is this a lower level of stimulation than your ideal normal level would be?

Gosh, that's description of my older brother. He's 30yrs old, still living with me and parents, dropped his master studies, working in a job that mom got for him, sitting all day long in front of computer (works also in IT), fat as hell ( at least started working out a bit lately). With no life goals, just living from day to day. Ofcourse I hadn't ever seen him fapping, but the sympthoms fits perfectly for this kind of "disease".
