6max game (4 handed atm) so villian is a reg who runs 33/26 over 1.1k hands
he is very agressive and i think he raises flops as a bluff a good % of the time
so on the flop std call by me then on the turn when he checks back i think his range is weak (no sets, good K's are going to check the turn) then when this river comes i think he is going to bet it with all his AX and air ,at first i though about just calling but ended up shoving because i think no hand in his range can stand a check shove(even his weak AX) and i can rep AK AA A5 A3 among some others what do you guys think ?

I like it if villan can fold. I also like just folding flop to the raise here.

normally a would just fold but i felt like this guy was constantly attacking me in the session also he had a raise cbet % of 25 thats why i did it do you still think its a fold with this history ?

at the very least is a neutral ev call imo still i want to hear my opinions maybe im wrong

you'll just get owned a ton if you do call 66 here imo, unless you plan on doing things like this very often which in that case, i'm OK with it but i prefer to have more equity

i like it a lot if he's capable of folding like cosmo said. you don't rep a lot of hands but enough that could conceivably take this line, so if i was in his shoes, i would probably give you credit a lot

I like it a lot.

Folding to the flop raise is too weak if the guy truly has a raise cbet of 25%. I guess you could go into check/calling mode against an aggromonkey like this though but he's gonna be able to play perfectly then so I prefer this.

I think he has a lot of AXcc in his range as well. If he folds those, this is good.

25% raise cbet is aggromonkey? Ook!

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

When I still played NLHE I had a cbet raise% of 25 and most regs were around 10-15%.

well a laggy guy who raises 25% of cbets and probably see me as a lag player too i think he will be even more agressive against me so we can qualify him as aggro not sure if we can call him aggromonkey tho.

thanks for all the replies i will keep posting some hands on a regular basis hope we can have interesting discussions

Haha I agree. I meant that if 25% is an aggromonkey then I am one. It was a Pratchett reference, though of course definitely not a monkey.

And I love your line. But I think a flop fold, though it may feel further from optimal, will reduce many later mistakes.

I think the river line seems fine, its important to balance here i think because its not normal to have a c/r trapping range here on river. players have c/c induce ranges but a c/r bluff makes more sense than a c/r for value (his range is very capped) to the point where it can be easy to see through and i wouldnt be too shocked if a 33/26 called as light as KQ

I think the flop is a clear fold, especially without the 6c...i think a c/c is fine b/f is fine

I completely disagree. If I had got to the river with 2 pair+ I would see this ace and consider it the absolutely perfect dream definitive c/r spot. The only problem is how often we have a big hand here, and I think aces up is just enough doubt in his mind to get the required fold equity.

Honestly I dont like any of this, even if you think he is mostly full of shit on the flop you still cant get to showdown and you are forced to try and bluff him off of a rivered TP. You are much better off just raising the flop if you want to continue.

Twisted    Netherlands. Feb 08 2012 20:05. Posts 10110

You're setting yourselves up to massive mistakes if you 3bet the flop because he's gonna shove all his draws forcing you to fold.

My point is that when a villian raises this flop it's gonna be air/draw a lot because a lot of the kings get 3bet preflop and most people don't raise KJ for value on this flop so again; I don't mind at all how you played it. He could easily be bluffing the A on the river but it's likely he rivered toppair and for him this might be a clear bet/fold spot. If he's the calling type of player, I'd just fold river but if not, I think it's a decent line.

Sure folding flop is easiest, but you're giving up a ton of equity by 'just' folding to a minraise.

I disagree twisted, I dont think he would raise/shove all his FDs, but KcXc,AcXc and 4c6c if he has that, even if he raises and jams over with like 8c9c(which he doesnt) we are even losing to that. But against his air range we would do much better to take it down on the flop than take a turn oop against a hand like QJ with a club, our hand just isnt strong enough, if we had like A5 I wouldnt mind calling as much but 66 Im happy to raise/fold the flop.
