Eurobet, once part of the PartyPoker network, has recently become a part of the OnGame network along with websites such as Pokerroom and Full Contact Poker (sponsored by Daniel Negreanu).

Software/support:

Eurobet’s main lobby is pretty efficient. Finding your ideal ring game or tournament is very easy. One very cool feature about the main lobby is the statistics.

You have the option of looking at your statistics for all sessions on the site for each game. Each game contributes to the time played. For example, if you play 4 tables for 1 hour each, the time played will be 4 hours. Thus, I didn’t only average $1.60 an hour, it was closer to $6!

Further, not only can you look at your statistics for all games, but you can go to the session browser and view every hand you’ve played on the site! It really is a great tool for learning. After a session, you can go through and see every hand you played.

Shown above is the eurobet table. If you go to options -> preferences in the main lobby, you can choose from a ton of different options for your tables -- I suggest using the stack amount feature (otherwise you cant tell how much people are betting).

The tables are ok, but I do have a few bones to pick with them.
For one, instead of having to go to the session browser, you can view the previous hand on the table by clicking on the link in the upper left hand corner. However, these hand histories are terrible, they are incompatible with our hand converter, and leave out valuable information like your hole cards. Often, the hand history doesn’t even work, and an error appears.

When it does work, it comes out like this: http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=1561

The suits are capitalized, 10 is used instead of T, and as said, you dont even see your own holecards.

Secondly, the raising is again different from all the other sites. Say I bet $5, and you raise to $15. If I want to reraise to $40, I have to type in $35, because $40 is $35 more than my current amount. It’s very confusing to have to remember the different intricacies of each site’s raising tendencies.

Thirdly, you are given a very little amount of time to act. Many times I’ve been put to a decision in a NL game, and I only had 20 seconds to make up my mind. There is no timer button like on pokerstars or anything else to request more time. It gets very annoying, especially when you are multitabling. Often I am forced to fold a hand because I don’t act in time. Tables don’t pop up like other sites, but instead just blink. With such a short time to act, it is hard to always keep on top of things. What’s even more annoying is if you get disconnected, then you are booted off the table after a short amount of time, they don’t even wait for you.

Finally, in order to rebuy on a table, you have to sit out first, then go to the cashier, then rebuy, then sit back in. The result is that you will often not sit down in time and you will have to wait for the next hand. This is especially true when playing shorthanded or heads up.

The support team at eurobet is pretty solid. First, you go to your account page by clicking the little $ sign at the bottom of the main lobby. Then, when the account page opens, go to messages, and you can choose the department that you want to contact. My questions have always been answered very quickly and fully, and I have never had a problem with the support team. Along with an email support team, eurobet support is reachable by phone or fax.

Rating of software: 5.5
Rating of support: 7.5

Cash games:

At peak hours, the Ongame network has some decent traffic, surpassing the 15000 user mark. However, at most times, it is around 10k users logged on. What this translates to is good ring traffic in hold em and bad traffic in the other games offered. One thing to note is that on eurobet, the shorthanded tables are 5 player and the full tables are 10 player for hold em (stud only offers 8 player full tables).

As for multitabling, I have no idea what the maximum amount of tables you can play at once is. I was told by a member of support that it should be 4, but I have played up to 7 games at once, so who knows. It might not even have a maximum number for all I know.

Hold em:
Eurobet offers a huge range of stakes in limit, no limit and pot limit hold em. In fixed limit, it is easy to find a game from .15/.3 to 15/30. There are usually some heads up games going at the higher limit games, but it is hard to find a bigger game than that at 25/50 and above. However, they do offer 250/500 and 500/1000 games, so if travis wants, he could play for even higher stakes than 100/200! (I’m not encouraging him to, just saying he could if he wants to). No limit and pot limit have stakes ranging from $10 buyin to $10000 buyin. There are usually games running up to $2000 buyins, with a game at higher limits rarely going.

Omaha:
Eurobet offers limit, pot limit and no limit Omaha. It is hard to find a fixed Omaha game above micro stakes, but there are usually some higher pot limit games running.

Omaha 8:
Sadly, it is very hard to find a fixed Omaha 8 game. I’ve managed to get a 2/4 omaha 8 game going twice. There are however, some pot limit games running usually.

7-stud:
There are usually some 7-stud games running at the lower limits (.5/1, 1 / 2) and usually a couple of higher games running. I’ve never had trouble finding a 7 stud game, which I can’t say for both Omaha and Omaha 8.

Stud 8:
You will never find a game of stud 8 running on this site. I don’t know why there is even a section for it.

5 card draw:
I don’t know anyone who actually plays 5-card draw, but eurobet offers it, and actually has a community. There are no low stakes games going, only 1 / 2 and up, but if you’d like to give it a shot, it isn’t hard to find a game.

Rating for ring traffic: 7
Rating for ring game selection: 6 (only giving a 6 because its so hard to find stud 8 and Omaha 8 games)
Rating for multitabling capacity: 8 (only 8 because it’s hard to keep a lot running on this site)

Tournaments:

The tournament selection on eurobet is pretty terrible. They do offer some multitable tournaments, sit and go tournaments and qualifiers, but the tournament traffic is bad, as well as the game selection.

It’s very hard to find a tournament other than no limit going. There are occasionally some 7-card stud and Omaha 8 tournaments going, but it’s almost always limited to no limit tournaments.

The sit and gos start with 1500 in chips and 10/20 blinds, which isn’t bad, but the blinds go up every 8 minutes, which I believe is a little faster than stars.

The qualifier tournaments are basically qualifiers to bigger tournaments on the site. I’ve never seen a satellite to a WPT or WSOP or some other event on there. So no EPT qualifiers for you Raszi!

As you can see, there really isn’t much info given.

Softness of competition:

I find it really hard to compare eurobet to other sites in terms of competition. At times the players seem very tight like they are trying to clear the bonus. Other times, players seem wild and unpredictable. I guess that’s the nature of any poker site. Overall, I would say the players on Eurobet are better than average. Not quite as good as pokerstars, but definitely better than party or the prima network.

Rating of soft competition: 5

Bonuses/rake:

Eurobet has a great bonus system. Here is how the bonus works:

For each $.1 raked from a pot, you will receive .07 points towards your bonus. To clear a bonus, you must accrue 10 times as many points as the amount of money you are getting. So, for a $600 bonus, you must accumulate 6000 points. What this translates to is $8500 raked from your pots! That’s a huge amount for low stakes players. Playing mainly $50 no limit games and 2/4 limit games, it has taken me about 2.5 weeks to clear the bonus. So, if you are playing around $100 or $200 No limit or about 2/4 – 5/10 limit games, the bonus will not take long to clear at all, and it will be pretty significant compared to your bankroll. However, if you play much higher or much lower than that it simply isn’t worth it.

The rake at eurobet is kind of baffling. What’s good about it is that at low stakes, less is taken from each pot. However, the amount taken is higher than 5% for pots that don’t max out. For example, at a 2/4 table, if the pot reaches $25, then $2 is raked. This is higher than the 5% standard of most poker sites, however, at 2/4 $2 is the maximum amount that can be raked. Here is basically what I’ve noticed about the maximum rake on the site:

No limit/pot limit
Stakes Max amount raked
.1/.25 $.50
.25/.5 $1
.5/1 $2
1/2 and up $3

Fixed limit
Stakes Max amount raked
.25/.5 $.25
.5/1 $.5
1/2 $1
2/4 $2
3/6 and up $3

Here is a website with more information about the rake:
http://www.eurobet.com/1/help/poker/rake.html

Rating on bonuses: 10

Although there are some drawbacks, eurobet is a great place to play poker. Everything about the site is pretty decent (except the tournaments), and the bonuses the best I’ve seen yet.

the software sounds a bit like hollywood poker, which is what i'll be reviewing
i only just noticed that you can rightclick your name to change blind options, but you still have to sit out to restack, and you'll still lose your seat if disconnected for 30 seconds or wtvr
