The first Durrrr challenge, against Patrik Antonius, is still running, but Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan engaged in another 50,000-hand marathon against an online poker shark. His opponent in the new duel is Dan 'JungleMan12' Cates, widely known as a great high stakes player. The rules of this challenge are the same as the rules of the other one, the only difference is that Durrrr and JungleMan12 are playing No-Limit Hold'em instead of Pot-Limit Omaha.
The first two rounds of the challenge have been played, and in a single day both guys played over 10% of the challenge, making it a total of 5,829 hands. In a first and shorter session, Durrrr got the upper hand and took a $130,000 lead. In one of the biggest hands of that session ($86,388), Durrrr tried to bluff JungleMan12 out of the hand on the river with Q-high, but got called by his opponent, who had just completed a K-high flush.

The second part of the session had a completely different result. Since the very start things worked in JungleMan12's favor, as you can see in the graph above. The last part of the session was really downhill for Durrrr, as he lost close to $300k in the last 330 hands of the session. After all was said and done, JungleMan12 left the tables $518,202 up in the challenge, meaning he scored a $650,000 win in ~4,200 hands.
This is just the beginning of the challenge, but it's certainly great that they played that many hands on the first day as no one is interested in another 18-month snoozefest.
