<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Pindarots/Oktober08/ericliu.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">Eric 'Peachy' Liu, one of the dearest posters in our forums came really close of winning the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event in the World Series of Poker. Peachy finished the 4-day event in 7th place, achieving the first WSOP final table of his poker career. He pocketed a sweet $68,902! This is not the first pretty result for Peachy in the WSOP. Last year he almost final tabled the Main Event of the European WSOP, but unfortunately he fell short of his goal and finished in 10th place.
The champion of the event is American Chance Kornuth, a 24 years old professional poker player. He has been playing professionally for two years now, and it finally paid off in a live tournament. This marks Kornuth's first ever WSOP victory. It's also only the second time that he cashes in a WSOP tournament. Kornuth earned $508,090 in prize money. The runner-up is Kevin Boudreau, who cashed for the fifth time in a WSOP event in his poker career, the first ever in an Omaha event. Boudreau collected an impressive $313,792 2nd place prize. Also present in the final table was Robert Mizrachi, who is a former World Championship Pot-Limit Omaha champion. Mizrachi was eliminated in 8th place.
“If I had to say one word, it was intense. It was just awesome. The fans were great. Other than a few arguments (in the crowd), everyone at the table got along great. It was really fun,” said the champion about the experience of his first WSOP final table. When asked about Pot-Limit Omaha, Kornuth gave a straight answer: “I think this is by far my best game."
