NBC's Poker After Dark is back, with a brand new series for 2010! The first episode of this sixth season of the popular pokershow will be aired on January 4th, so tonight/tomorrow morning at 2.05 ET, and according to the directors, we can expect fireworks.
The new season will have many of its familiar faces. Ali Nejad and Leeann Tweeden will once again be providing the commentary and hosting the show, as we've seen them do in previous seasons. On the very first episode however, Nejad will be playing poker as the season kicks off with "Commentators III", featuring Nejad, Howard Lederer, Gabe Kaplan, Joe Sebok, Mark Gregorich and Kara Scott.
The season will show 13 parts. 7 of them are the usual six-handed winner-take-all freezeout tournament, while the other six weeks are filled with 3 cashgames, with various buy-ins that will air over a two-week period. In these events we will be seeing the familiar players like Tom Dwan, Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Howard Lederer, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, etcetera. But this new season also brings 13 new players to the table, like Annette Obrestad (she's finally old enough to play in the USA), James Akenhead and Kara Scott.
