Rainmaker from TLPokerLA captures gold bracelet

Mexican Angel "Rainmaker" Guillen is a TLPoker.LA user who won the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em four days ago. It's the first time another site from the LP network sees one of its users becoming a WSOP champion. Unfortunately we completely missed that one due to some miscommunication between TLPokerLA and LPnet.

"It is a dream come true," Gullien said. "I have wanted to be professional poker player all my life."

Rainmaker defeated Finnish Mika Paasonen in the heads-up. He had to go through five grueling hours before finally collecting his first gold bracelet. With this win, Rainmake becomes only the second Mexican to win a WSOP event. Guillen took home a first place prize of $530,548 ! Felicitaciones, Angel Guillen!

Raszi doing great in Event 41

Lex "Raszi" Veldhuis is running like a god in the $5,000 NLHE Shootout event. This is an event in which a player has to beat his table in order to advance to the following round. Raszi beat his 1st table yesterday, and is on his way to beat his second one. Jonathan "TwistedEcho" Heath was at this table as well, but he ended up getting eliminated by Raszi. Right now Raszi is playing heads-up against Maxim Lykov with a 2 to 1 chip advantage. If Raszi defeats Lykov, he will reach the final table, which is going to be played tomorrow. God damnit I jinxed someone again. Just as I finish this post and refresh the other page Lex is eliminated...haha, seriously. This is like the 3rd time I check something and the player I'd root for gets insta-eliminated
