Since yesterday we were thinking positive and anticipating a dream final table for LPers. Three of our mates were in the mix, trying to take down the WPT Championship. Unfortunately, sometimes dreams become dust, and that's what happened when Eric "Peachy" Liu and Blake Cahaill were eliminated in 19th and 16th places respectively. Both of them earned the same amount - $65,370 - for their performances.

On the bright side of the news, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier is still there, among the finalists. Even though there are 10 players in a single table, there are still two days to go. Tonight they will play down to the final six for the televised WPT final table. At which point they'll stop playing and return tomorrow to play for the big paycheck. As of right now, Elky is 2nd in chips, holding a 6 millions stack.

Elky is facing a very strong opposition in this final table. His opponents are Scotty Nguyen, Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko, Justin Young, Shannon "BLUFFforRENT" Shorr, Eugene Katchalov, Brian "tsarrast" Rast, Christian "charder30" Harder, Ran Azor and Bruno Fitoussi. If you look around the internet you'll find impressive tournaments results from most of these guys both in live and online play.

Elky is chasing his second WPT title, after winning last year's WPT Festa al Lago. Bonne chance, Elky!

Updated chipcounts (from WPT live updating)

    1. Christian Harder - 8,800,000
    2. Elky Grospellier - 6,000,000
    3. Scotty Nguyen - 4,740,000
    4. Ran Azor - 3,550,000
    5. Yevgeniy Timoshenko - 3,530,000
    6. Shannon Shorr - 3,200,000
    7. Justin Young - 1,220,000
    8. Brian Rast - 1,110,000
    9. Eugene Katchalov
    10. Bruno Fitoussi

He's really been dozin' it up after the final 10, barely any showdown if I read correctly.

How will you be able to watch once it's down to 6?

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.

On other ElkY raleted news:

Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier is one of the best online poker players in the world. He’s picked up many cash finishes in the biggest events at PokerStars, and was also the first ever player to reach Supernova Elite status in the PokerStars VIP Club - and it only took him 13 days to do it! Maybe it’s his former career as a professional Starcraft player that’s helped him get so good, or maybe he was just born to be good at poker. Either way, his appetite for online action in the biggest games shows no sign of slowing down. And now he wants to take it even further.

On April 28 at 13:00 ET, ElkY will be attempting to set a new world for the highest number of Sit & Go’s played at the same time. This special event will take place in Monte Carlo, during the Grand Final of the European Poker Tour Season 5 - and we want you to be part of the celebrations by sitting down to compete against him. What’s more, everyone that plays against ElkY during the record attempt will be issued a ticket to a special freeroll with a $1,000 guaranteed prize pool, talking place on May 6 at 16:00 ET.

To be part of the action, simply follow these instructions to locate which tables ElkY will be playing at during his record attempt:

Open the PokerStars lobby and click ‘Requests’.
Select ‘Find a Team PokerStars Player’.
Click on ElkY to see a list of tables he will be playing on.
In order to set a new record, ElkY must follow these strict rules during the challenge:

He has just one hour to open as many $6.50 Sit & Go’s as he can.
He has to finish playing at all the tables he’s sat down at.
He must finish with an overall positive bankroll.
It’s going to be hard work, but ElkY is ready and waiting to go. Don’t miss your chance to play against one of the most famous names in the game, and be part of online poker history.

PokerStars will also be filming the event, and you’ll be able to catch Elky’s performance from April 29 at 11:00 ET at www.pokerstars.tv.

Will there be a stream for the final 6 players of the FT? Or does "televised" mean that it'll be filmed, cut, and uploaded somewhere so we can review it later?

I hope it's the former (sorry, I'm kinda inexperienced watching this, I've railed ElkY playing live a grand total of 2 times, and I don't remember how / where / when it was.)

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.
