Those who have been eliminated from PCA's Main Event had another shot at scoring big in the Caribbean, as they could play the $25K High Roller Event. Our mate Elky was one of those fortunate guys and decided to play the big event together with other big stars. Ivan Demidov, Gus Hansen, Antonio Esfandiari and Eli Elezra are some of the big names who played the tournament. It is a different year, but apparently results are following similar patterns as last year’s for Elky. Despite not being able to defend his Main Event title, Elky is doing great for the second year in a row in the PokerStars’ festival and has a big chance to take down another sick title.
The field is not that big, 48 players, but the prizes are pretty good, check it out: 1st - $433,500
2nd - $228,000
3rd - $137,000
4th - $91,300
5th - $70,800
6th - $68,500
7th - $57,000
8th - $45,700
The final table also consists of 8 players, so every one in this table is guaranteed at least $45,700. Elky is looking good, he has 358,000 chips, third among the finalists. Players like Eli Elezra, Nick Schulman, Daniel Alaei, Humberto Brenes and Scott "mastrblastr" Seiver make this a really sick final table and are some of those hunting the first prize.
Here are the official chip counts as in the start of the final table:
Seat 1 - Humberto Brenes - 423,500
Seat 2 - Scott Seiver - 449,500
Seat 3 - Nick Schulman - 99,500
Seat 4 - Liya Gerasimov - 259,000
Seat 5 - Daniel Alaei - 209,500
Seat 6 - Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - 358,000
Seat 7 - Will Molson - 270,500
Seat 8 - Eli Elezra - 355,500
The final will start around 3 p.m ET, and that’s any minute from now. You can follow the action live on PokerStars TV. Wish good luck to Elky in our forum too, here is the railthread!
