Fifth season of Poker After Dark kicks off

<img src="http://www.tlpoker.be/staff/Pindarots/December08/pokerafterdark.jpg" align="right" style="margin:6px; border:1px solid black;">The fifth season of Poker After Dark has begun, as it aired on television in the US last night, and it will soon appear on PokerTube and similar sources. We will see 16 line-ups this season, which will be broadcast during weekdays and will have a "director's cut" on sundays.

The first episode is called "Close but no Cigar", a table filled with players who finished deep in the WSOP Main Event, but didn't win it yet. We will see: Mike Matusow, who finished 9th in 2005 and finished deep this year as well. Andy Black, was on the same final table as Matusow, and finished 5th. Allen Cunningham couldn't beat Jamie Gold's legendary coinflipping skills, and thus busted in 4th place in 2006.

Next to them we'll see 2 famous runner-ups: David Williams didn't manage to beat Greg Raymer in 2004, and Dewey Tomko, who actually finished as runner-up twice! In 1982 he lost to Jack Straus and in 2001 he just couldn't beat Carlos Mortensen for the title. He's also owner of the record for longest consecutive WSOP Main Events entries, he has played them all since 1974! Last player on the table is Lee Watkinson, who lost with A7 vs A9 against Jerry Yang in 2007.

These six players will each pay $20.000 entry fee in this winner-takes-all contest.

Meh, no Hellmuth=boring. IMO it's the interaction between personalities that make TV poker interesting. I'm not really interested in a bunch of well-behaved boring guys playing poker. Put Negreanu, who will list all hands that beat him, call and lose, Hellmuth, who will trash talk everyone, and Durr, who will serve as target for Hellmuth...now that would be a fun season. These guys are meh.

This was probably one of the best PAD shows I've seen.

And yeah, Williams is fucking HORRIBLE. Fucking limp / call with 72s and a retarded 4-bet all-in with no FE at all. Andy Black put in like half his stack with that raise and Williams put him on air, ROFL. Stupid cunt.
