<img src="http://www.tlpoker.be/staff/Pindarots/December08/worldrecordweek.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">This weekend PokerStars is trying to reach a world record! They hope to get 35.000 players participating in their Guinness World Record Attempt and there's no doubt they reach that cap. Not only that, but also other tournaments are breaking records as well. The Sunday Million will not be its usual 1.5 million dollar prizepool, but they've upped it to $2.500.000 guaranteed! PokerStars has also increased the prizepool of the Sunday Warm-Up, from $750.000 to 1 million dollar guaranteed!
The Sunday Warm-Up will be the first of the three big events this weekend, tomorrow at 12.45 ET. With a $200+$15 buy-in, similar to the Sunday Million, it's just what the name says: a warm-up. With the 1 million dollar guaranteed, they hope to reach at least 5000 participants. As of this moment, less than 10% of that has enrolled, but that's not really extroardinary for this event. To enroll for it, you can find it under the Tourney -> Special tab, or go to tournamentID 128082898.
The Guinness World Record Attempt will be hosted tomorrow at 15.30 ET and is capped at 35.000 players. As of this moment, 33.000 of them have enrolled, so if you still want to be part of this record, you have to be quick! You can find this as well under the same Tourney -> Special tab, or search for tournamentID 126551369. With a buy-in of $10+$1 and a guaranteed prizepool of $500.000, it will have an overflow of $150.000!
One hour later, at 16.30 ET, we will see the Sunday Million taking place. 2200 players have enrolled right now, but this is likely to be about 6 times as much when the tournament starts. With a buy-in of $200+$15 , it means there need to be at least 12.500 participants for it not to have an overflow on this $2.500.000 prizepool. This too can be found under the Tourney -> Special tab or under tournamentID 128525509.
There are satellites running for all these events. We wish you best of luck to end your 2008 in style, with a big cash in one of these big tournaments perhaps?
