Starting off with the 4th chipcount, he had a fair chance of reaching the final 6 for sure, but nothing can be taken for granted in poker.
That's also what Benjamin "straate" Straate found out. As he started with a commanding chiplead, his expectations were high as well, but for some reason it just didnt work out. He hasn't been playing many hands in the early hours and most of them go the wrong way, so his chipstack of 3 million keeps declining. Fortunately, it's getting better when they start moving from 2 tables back to 1, when we get 10-handed, Ben is still in 3rd chipstack, but after losing a big pot to Chino Rheem he gets all-in with 8 players left. Holding against the pocket sixes of Steve Sung, it's a classic coinflip, but there's no help and straate is out in 8th place, earning $115,295
Meanwhile FrinkX's run of the day was quite different. His aggressive play at the table paid off really well. It started with the elimination of Bill Klein in 18th place (AKs vs JJ, Evan flops a K) and that was only the beginning. Within an hour he gained the chiplead and kept it throughout most of the day, exploiting his big stack nicely. A crucial hand against Steve Sung follows. After a raise from Sung, Evan calls preflop. With a flop, Sung check-raises Evan to 250.000. The on the turn makes Sung bet after which FrinkX moves all-in. Sung appears to be puzzled and frustrated, and is trying to figure out what FrinkX has here. Time passes, the clock gets called and in the end, Sung folds in agony. Video of this hand:

After this hand, Evan continues the expand his chiplead, and also knocks out Robert Mizrachi (QQ vs AJs, no help from the board) on his way. Just before the end of it tho, there's a huge pot (4.4 million!) which goes to Steve Sung, who flopped quads on a Q33-9-8 board with 3 clubs. Fortunately this doesn't knock him off his game and as Joe McGowan is knocked out in 7th place, he's still 2nd in chips going into the final table later today!
Chipcounts: Seat 1. Chino Rheem - 4,240,000
Seat 2. Amnon Filippi - 2,750,000
Seat 3. Hoyt Corkins - 2,295,000
Seat 4. Steve Sung - 5,885,000
Seat 5. Justin Young - 2,410,000
Seat 6. Evan McNiff - 4,805,000
The final table will be played later today, at 4 p.m, after which we will know who goes home with $1,538,730 . Let's hope it will be Evan "FrinkX" McNiff, best of luck!
