<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Pindarots/December08/benstraate.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;" alt="Ben Straate">Another day of the WPT Five Diamond Poker Classic is behind us, and another successful day it was. With 3 LP-players in the final 5 and 2 in the final 18, the chances of one of them making the final table are getting bigger every day. Unfortunately for Daniel "Rekrul" Schreiber, he isnt one of them, as he got knocked out in 52nd place with pocket tens against pocket jacks, earning him $23,420 .
Evan "FrinkX" McNiff and Benjamin "straate" Straate had a much better day. FrinkX started the day as a chipleader, with just over a million chips, but didn't manage to maintain his chiplead. A crucial hand came when he was all-in against Nick Schulman. Evan's AQ didn't look good against the pocket kings of Schulman, but an ace on the flop saved his tournament and gave him back a sweet 1.6 million stack! That was about the stack he ended the day with.
Ben Straate on the other hand started with a smaller stack, 645.000, but he had a fenomenal run today that makes him go into day 5 as chipleader! It all started with a classic cooler situation, Straate found pocket aces when Allen Cunningham moved in with pocket kings. That made his stack go up to over a million and when he shoves all-in on the river in a crucial hand against Steve Landfish (the board ran      ), he went over the two million mark. Not much later, knocking out Captain Tom Franklin with kings versus queens on a  -board (2 blanks came), he was even up to over 3 million chips! And when later Hoyt Corkins got knocked out in 19th place, we got to see the final chipcount, Benjamin Straate as chipleader, Evan McNiff in 4th place! Not bad, not bad at all...
