Day 3 is behind us, and three of our guys are still fighting for the title of the WPT Five Diamond Poker Classic! 139 players started the day, 100 reached the money zone and guaranteed at least $21,620, and fifty five are still alive and willing to win the championship.

After the amazing recovery during Day 2, Straate had another great performance and finished Day 3 in the top 10 of the chip counts, with 645,000 chips. Rekrul has 268,000, less than average, and is also going to play Day 4. The best news comes from FrinkX (pic) though. He is the current chip leader of the tournament. He is the only player to have more than one million chips, and is slightly ahead of WSOP final tablist David “Chino” Rheem. Sadly our Dutchman Raszi was one of the guys to hit the rail. He was eliminated out of the money.

When a tournament is nearing the bubble, usually you expect things to slow down. This time, however, it didn’t happen. Every table was waiting for hand-for-hand play to start, when bubble-boy Jason Dewitt was eliminated by Chino, whose pocket Aces turned in Full House. As stated in the last posts, lots of great players were playing this event, and obviously every day we have a little list with the names of the eliminated. Poker legend Doyle Brunson, Sorel Mizzi, Nenad Medic, Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth are some of the players who got knocked out of the tournament. Hellmuth got rivered after a double paired board gave his opponent the Full House that beat his 7-high Flush. I wish I witnessed that .

Well, let’s take a look at the LPer’s tables when Day 4 start:

 TABLE 57
1. Amnon Filippi - 547,000
2. Yehuda Yerushalaim - 244,000

6. Benjamin Straate - 645,000

6. Dan Schreiber - 268,000

After a series of raises, Allen Cunningham is all in before the flop with KK. However, he ran into the one hand that he didn't want to see - the AA of Ben Straate.

The board comes 754510 and Cunningham is eliminated from the tournament. After the hand, Straate shoots up to over 1,000,000 in chips.

I HATE Hoyt Corkins. He reminds me of JR from the WWF.

Robert Mizrachi opens the pot for a 35,000 raise and Evan McNiff calls from the small blind. The flop comes AK8 and McNiff checks it over to Mizrachi who bets 55,000. McNiff makes the call.

The board fills out AK868 with both players checking the turn and the river. McNiff shows pocket jacks and takes down the pot.
---
Ben Straate raises from the button, and Steve Landfish reraises from the big blind for an additional 76,000. Straate thinks for a moment and moves all in for a little more than 300,000. Landfish looks at him, asks if he has a real hand, and folds.

Ben Straate takes the pot, building his stack to about 490,000. Steve Landfish is still strong with about 1,545,000.

left 32 players... gl guys

up: left 26 players

After a series of pre flop raises, Evan McNiff is all in for 813,000 with Ace-Queen against the pocket Kings of Nick Schulman.

An ace hits on the flop and Schulman can not catch up. McNiff doubles up to 1,650,000. As he was stacking his chips, McNiff leaned over to media personnel standing by him and called himself "a donkey."

hahaha :D
