<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Pindarots/December08/bellagio5.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">While our fellow liquidpoker-players did very well on day 1A and 1B of the Doyle Brunson Classic Championship, part of the World Poker Tour, day 2 was a lot less successful for half of them. While 8 of them started day 2, only 4 of them would see the end of it. If you look at the average, 139 players out of 376 survived day 2, that's actually not bad at all

It all started with Evan "FrinkX" McNiff being the chipleader of our 8, holding 190,375 chips he was 2nd in chips overall. Meanwhile Thomas "TJBentham/teej1985" Bentham was the LP-shortstack with just 15 big blinds (12,050 chips) left, he was one of the shortest stacks overall. The following 4 players made it to day 3:

    Evan "FrinkX" McNiff 485,300
    Benjamin "straate" Straate 317,100
    Lex "RasZi" Veldhuis 204,100
    Daniel "Rekrul" Schreiber 88,100

    Average: 160,899

Unfortunately that meant we had to say goodbye to 4 others. Both Mig (James Mackey), Myth (Corwin Cole) and Thomas "TJBentham/teej1985" Bentham got knocked out too early, as did Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. ElkY was in fact one of the few players that could beat John Phan on the CardPlayer Player of the Year-ranking. John Phan himself got knocked out on day 2 as well, so now he'll just have to wait and see if anyone passes him. This wont be easy tho, and after David Pham, Ivan Demidov and Erik Seidel got knocked out as well, there is actually only one player still able to catch up with Phan in this tournament: Michael Binger. He'll have to win the event tho, and that won't be easy, as he'll only have a mere 66.800 chips to play with.

The chipleader for today is Justin Young, who's sitting behind 522.900 worth of chips. We'd like to wish our 4 remaining players all the best as they fight to finish in the money later today and for the title later this week!

Chipcounts:

    1 Justin Young 552,900
    2 Charles Kelley 540,900
    3 Evan Mcniff 485,300
    4 Tuan Le 480,000
    5 Kido Pham 445,000
    6 Clonie Gowen 430,000
    7 Phil Helmuth Jr 412,800
    8 Joseph McGowan 346,800
    9 Scott Bohlman 342,400
    10 Scott Dorin 338,900

Play resumes at 12 p.m. PST and the top 100 players are guaranteed to win at least $21,620 . Table draw for today can be found here and live updates are to be found here

There was a buzz among the poker fans as Clonie Gowen was seated at the same table as Howard Lederer all day, separated by a single seat. This is notable because Lederer is a partial owner of Full Tilt Poker, which recently dropped Clonie Gowen from their premier team of players. Gowen filed a $40 million lawsuit against the company a few days later, claiming she was owed a percentage of the company

sweet

I was playing poker with tarot cards the other night. I got a full house and four people died. WTF...welcome to finland...
