Running from January 9th to 26th, this series will boast 18 events ranging from a mere $230+20 AUD buy-in to an awesome $100,000+500 AUD buy-in! The latter is the biggest buy-in multi-table tournament in the world and had 25 entrants in 2008, of which Howard Lederer was the strongest. The event has a Pot-Limit structure preflop and is no-limit after the flop.
There will also be a lot of other events, including Limit, No-Limit and Mixed Hold'em, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, Pot Limit Omaha, H.O.R.S.E and 2-Card Manila, which is a typical Australian game being played on Australia Day (January 26). The most notable events must be the $100,000+500 No-Limit Hold'em Challenge, the $5,000+300 Australian Heads-Up Championship, $10,000+200 H.O.R.S.E. and of course the $10,000+500 Aussie Millions Main Event, which will have a guaranteed first prize of $2,000,000 AUD ! Most events on the schedule are 2-day events and the Main Event is a full 7 days (including day 1A, 1B and 1C).
