Peter Eastgate is the youngest player at this final table with his 22 years of age. Born in Odense, Denmark, Eastgate dropped out of college studying economics to become a professional poker player and is widely regarded as one of the top Danish internet pros. If he wins the event, he will be the first Danish WSOP Main Event winner, and the youngest player ever to win it, beating Phil Hellmuth's record!
Peter has had his share of success online, mainly playing heads-up and short-handed games at $10/$20 up to $200/$400 blinds of No Limit Hold'em under the nickname Eastvin or Peter4002 at Ladbrokes or as "Isser" at PokerStars. He made a lot of money on these limits and thus could afford his $10,000 buy-in by direct buy-in (so no satellite needed).
Before this Main Event he was relatively unknown for live poker, having cashed only twice, a 9th place at the Irish Open in 2007 and a 32nd place at the EPT Scandinavian Open this year. After reaching the final table at this WSOP, he showed his class by finishing deep in the EPT London, where he sat at the same table as LP's Eric "Peachy_keen" Liu (and donated some chips to Peachy). These three cashes earned him about $100.000 so far in live poker which means his total live earnings after this WSOP Main Event will be at least 1 million dollar!
His favorite poker player is Patrick Antonius and together with Ivan Demidov he'll be the only European player left. With his 18,357,000 chips, he'll try and take a shot at the 9 million dollar first prize!
