<img src="http://www.tlpoker.be/staff/Pindarots/Oktober08/chipleaderday2.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">So, 158 players survived day 1A and 1B to play in day 2 of the EPT in London. With our own Erik "Pinball" Sjodin as the chipleader, and both Eric "Peachy_keen" Liu and Jonathan “TwistedEcho” Heath in as well, there were still hopes for a glorious Liquidpoker-day . At the end of the day, we’d know who would end in the money and who would not. For the winner of this event, a cool million Brittish Pounds (about $1.75 million dollar) is waiting for him.
Out of the 158 players starting, 56 would get paid at least £8,156. That means 102 of them would not get paid, and within 5 hours of play, we knew who made the money and who did not. Unfortunately for TwistedEcho, he was in the latter group not making the money. I couldn’t find any info on how and when, but what we do know is that he did not make it to the money (he was not in the chipcounts nor in the payouts at the end of the day). He was in good company tho, as big names as Gus Hansen, Barry Greenstein, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Kathy Liebert, Neil Channing, Roland de Wolfe and bubble boy Hafiz Khan (he lost with queens vs jacks, got rivered a set) did not manage to finish in the money either. After the bubble, Arnaud Mattern, Vanessa Rousso, Vicky Coren and 21 others got knocked out but leave with some money in their pockets.
That means 32 players would make it to day 3. Fortunately for Pinball and Peachy, they’ll are amongst that select group. They both had a good day, both finishing in the top 5 chipcounts (Pinball 4th, Peachy 5th) and will be fighting for their place at the final table. Other notable players still in are Sorel Mizzi, Peter Eastgate (2008 WSOP Main Event final tablist), Scotty Nguyen and David Benyamine (the latter 2 are at Pinball’s table). Unfortunately, the table draw hasn’t been that good for Erik “Pinball” Sjodin and Eric “Peachy_keen” Liu, as all the 3 bigger stacks are at their tables. Out of the top 10 chipcounts, 9 of them are at table 3 or 4! Philippe D'Auteuil (see picture) is the chipleader at the end of day 2.
