He overcame the biggest field ever of a tournament held in Asia, 538 players, to win the first prize of $453,851. Last year, the APPT was the first tournament ever to be held in China and now it looks to be one of those ever growing events. This year, 15% of the registered players were from China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Let's talk about the final table now. Sabat entered the day with the 2nd biggest stack, thanks to a huge pot he won by the end of Day 3, where he eliminated two players at the same time with pocket Aces. After that hand he was catapulted to the top of chipcounts and made very good use of the situation. The first to be eliminated on the final table was the korean So Myung Sim, former professional Starcraft player who started the day with the smallest stack out of the nine finalists. His elimination hand was an all-in move with Jc6c, promptly called by Tien Chen, who showed a pair of Twos. The board didn't help Sim, and he was sent out in the 9th position, earning $22,692.

After that what we saw was a lot of eliminations by the hands of the duo 'Sabat-Chua'. The next to be eliminated was Javed Abrahams. His KQo found no help on the board against Charles Chua's pair of Eights. He was eliminated in the 8th position. Then Sabat eliminated Tian Chen, representative of Macau Kuok Wai Will Cheong, and Jeppe Drivsholm, 7th, 6th and 5th places respectively. Mikael Rosen was eliminated by Chua in fourth place, as he made no hand with his JcTc. The last to be eliminated before the heads-up was Diwei Huang, who found himself way behind with A5s vs AKs (held by Sabat). Diwei Huang got himself $153,984 for his run.

The heads-up started with Charles Chua in the lead, with 3.2 million chips to Sabat's 2.1 million. That didn't last long though, as a few hands into the heads-up Ed Sabat managed to double up after calling an all-in semi-bluff by Charles "Chuck Truck" Chua. He had a gutshot straight draw while Sabat held TPTK with AhQc on a board of 5sQhTc. No changes came up and Sabat finished that hand with a 4:1 chiplead. In the final hand of the Main event, Chua opened from the button and Sabbat called from the big blind. Sabat checked the flop (6cQd6d), Chua made a bet, Sabat mini-raised and Chua moved all in. Edward Sabat thought for a while before calling and showing KdJd, while Chua had Qs3c. An Ace on the turn helped Sabat a bit, giving him more outs, but the decisive card came on the river, a Two of diamonds that gave Sabat a flush and the prize of $453,853 ! Charles Chua received a second place prize of $291,761 .

Final results:

    1 Edward Sabat - $453,851
    2 Charles Chua - $291,761
    3 Bryan Huang - $153,984
    4 Mikael Rosen $108,600
    5 Jeppe Drivsholm - $81,044
    6 Will Cheong - $56,730
    7 Tian Chen - $42,143
    8 Javed Abrahams - $30,797
    9 So Myung Sim - $22,692

The High-rollers event of the APPT Macau has also started. It's a 3-day event and has a $19,250 buy-in. Elky, Rekrul, and RainkhaN are playing the tournament, but Khan is already out . GL guys!
