Days 1B and C of the APPT Macau are over, and we now have numbers . The total entry was confirmed at 538, almost 200 more than last year's event, and the biggest ever tournament in Asian soil. The total prize-pool is HKD $12.643 million (~US$1.62 million) and the first prize is HKD $3,540,040 (~US$454,000).

First let's talk about Day 1B, as by the time the last news was posted the day wasn't finished yet. Both Elky and Rekrul had a tough day, but managed to survive and advance to Day 2. As of now, they have 15k and 13k chips respectively. Casey Kastle and Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko, finalists of the APT Macau that took place a couple days ago, were among the eliminations of the day. Neither of them had the opportunity to do much, as they were eliminated in the first levels of play. The chipleader of day 1B was David Steicke, who reached the final table of the APPT Macau High-Roller event last year. Steicke got the chiplead after improving a flopped set into a fullhouse. He ended the day with around 85k chips.

Day 1C was, as expected, the biggest day of the event so far. 229 players registered and confirmed the big growth of the tournament, compared to last year. One of the great guys playing today was no other than our own Hevad "Rainkhan" Khan, alongside with John Phan, Joe Hachem, Men Nguyen and the champion of APPT Macau 2007, Dinh Le. Sadly, RainkhaN was rivered twice and was eliminated. In his last hand, he found himself way behind with 99 vs AA. He found a Nine on the turn, but didn't have much time to celebrate, because an Ace came up on the river and eliminated him. John Phan and Dinh Le are out as well. PokerStars qualifier Mark Walsh, from Ireland, finished the day as the chipleader, with 95,000 chips.

Joe "ender555" Ebanks is one of the online pros who survived day 1 and now holds 25,700 chips.

Here are the chipcounts after Day 1C. As you can see, the overall leader is Day 1A chipleader, Andre Wagner, followed by Mark Walsh and David Steicke, chipleaders of Day 1C and 1B respectively.

    Andre Wagner - 109,700
    Mark Walsh - 95,000
    David Paul Steicke - 87,700
    Quinn Do - 83,600
    Kofi Farkye - 78,700
    Dennis Waterman - 75,800
    Daisy Cupino Wain - 70,100
    Ole Johan Steinvik - 68,900
    Tian Chen - 62,500
    Steven Djingga - 62,400

He is mentioned at the chipcounts, but I guess there are more Eric Liu's in the game, so the confusion is rather obvious.
