Pass the Sugar, the documentary

He is the one behind the production of the Poker documentary "Pass the Sugar", a doc based on Poker pro <b>Joe Hachem</b> and his road to the title of the World Series of Poker Main Event 2005.

Gil Cates has some good material in his hands. Joe Hachem was a Chiropractor, but needed to retire from his profession because of a blood disorder. Only then he started to concentrate on Poker. In 2005, Hachem payed the full buy-in to play in the Main Event and won it with 73o in the final hand.

Some familiar faces confirmed are poker player Jennifer Tilly and former baseball player Jose Canseco. They are likely to be featured in interviews. It is expected that some of the 9 players in the final table will make an appearance too.

The title of the project has its origins on Hachem's famous quote, "Pass the sugar!", said when he won an important hand at the WSOP 2005. Joe Hachem's brother, Tony Hachem, is also part of the production team. The documentary is expected to be released in 2009.

Sounds like an interesting watch.
