 The two most infamous poker rooms ever: Absolute Poker (home of the first super-user scandal in online poker history, which in the end led to a lot of doubts about online poker security) and UltimateBet (still under investigation about super-user accounts, which could see the opponents holecards while playing) are going to merge into one platform, called CEREUS
CEREUS is the result of more than 12 months innovation and development. The new platform is scheduled to launch in August, and when this happens, the combined network of those poker rooms is going to be the third biggest online poker network in the world. After the merge, both poker rooms will share players database, tournaments and cash tables. Both UltimateBet and Absolute Poker will however still keep their unique assets and will continue as individual brands (so you won't be seeing Annie Duke wear a CEREUS-shirt yet)

How successful will CEREUS be? Nobody knows, but with recent security breaches going on at both AbsolutePoker and UltimateBet (which belong to the same owner, Tokwiro Enterprises) it is highly doubtful that new network will have a warm welcome in the poker world.

QFT its actually better that they stay separate to keep each other honest. Especially because they will continue making better and better bonus offers to new players & VIP regulars to retain their customer base. If they have nobody to seriously compete against then the amount of advertising and bonus type stuff will decline.
What would be pure awesome is if Pokerstars and Fulltilt could remain separate companies but secretly share their game traffic. Impossible, but I can dream! |

no it would be terrible b/c it would be called "PokerTilt" and it would be "Full of Stars" and we would get our asses handed to us and the next thing after PokerTilt is a thing called LifeTilt and then you take a rope and hand yourself. (would have said gun and shot yourself but i'm the only one on here with a gun). |

I have nothing against Absolute for midstakes. So this just means there will one place with all the combined fish from both sites and none of the morally-righteous regulars. Sounds like a great place to play to me. |
