Day 5 is behind us and sadly LiquidPoker doesn't have anyone left to cheer for. Justin St. John, aka NMcNasty, was eliminated in 147th for $41,816. He moved all-in pre-flop with AJ, but his opponent's red tens prevailed with no interference from the board .
Still, The Main Event continues. 189 players started the day, of which 79 will be back to the Amazon Room for Day 6. Jeremy Joseph, chipleader of Days 3 and 4, manages to keep his position among the chipleaders. He had a roller coaster day, winning and losing huge pots, but once again increasing his stack by the end of the day, adding a million chips. Now he stands with the 10th biggest stack at roughly 3.1 million chips. Day 5 was also good to Tiffany Michelle (see picture), one of the two girls that are still alive in the tournament. She started with 900,000 chips and after that it was all about increasing. She finished with 3,438,000, 5th biggest stack!
Even though many people multiplied their number of chips, no one had a better day than current chipleader Mark Ketteringham. He had 1,600,000 chips after day 4, and now has 5,800,000, almost 2 million more than 2nd in chips, Andrew Brokos, a PokerStars qualifier.
David "Raptor" Benefield is one of the internet guys doing great at the Main Event. Right now he has 2.5 million chips and is in the top20, looking good for the rest of the tournament. The average stack is 1.7 million and blinds are 12,000/24,000. Some of the notables returning to Amazon Room are Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmuth, Kido Pham and Victor Ramdin. Gus Hansen and Hoyt Corkins are out.
