New game called "HoldemX", created by Alexander Dreyfus, describes itself as "Poker, enhanced", made its play money debut last week.
HoldemX comes from developer Mediarex, who label themselves "The Pokertainment company".
The game is a hybrid of e-sport games like Hearthstone and regular Texas Hold’em. It's been casuing a lot of discussion amongst poker community since people like Daniel Negreanu or Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier actively play Hearthstone at the moment for fun and entertainment factor. This could be provided by HoldemX, but it would come together with money wagering opportunities.
In the game, players use X cards which will ultimately seal their fate during the in-game battles. At present, the deck only features 15 cards to give players a chance to learn the basics of the game, but many more cards will be added soon.
In all, players can look forward to a multi-layered game with the same goals as poker but with added, pre-selected cards with which you can impact the game play.
Do you think the game has any chance to make a serious impact on the market?

Too complicated for a fun home game as a casual game with family, friends, and beer. But not comparable to real poker to make people want to play this over poker. (?) So who is it targeting? Hearthstone players will stay with hearthstone.
