“Optimal Payments” company, which is the parent company of one of the biggest online payment processors, Neteller, has expressed intrest in purchasing of another big online payment processor focused on online gambling, Skrill (also known previously as MoneyBookers). As rumours say, the offering prize is around €1.1 billion.
The sell wasn't confirmed yet, but it took just few hours for the the value of Optimal Payments stocks to rise by 32% after the information was leaked.
“We are taking advantage of an exceptional opportunity to acquire a business we know very well which, combined with Optimal Payments, will be a leading UK based online payments business with the essential scale necessary to be highly successful”, said Dennis Jones, Optimal’s chairman.
“The board believes this transformational transaction will be earnings accretive for shareholders from the first full fiscal year of ownership, will further diversify our client base and, additionally, will enable us to deliver enhanced services to existing and prospective merchants and customers in all of our global markets.”
