PokerStars have released Episode 3 of "Inside PokerStars" series, and this one is definitely one that many people have been eagerly been waiting for: PokerStars decided to talk about how their software does a random shuffle during a game of poker.

The explanations is done by Lee Jones himself and on PokerStars blog we can read: "At PokerStars we really have no vested interest in who wins or loses any particular hand or tournament. We look at the bigger picture. We make sure that the fundamentals of the game are in place: a fair shuffle and the uncompromising integrity of those who deal it. Poker naturally provides swings, outdraws and coolers. It's why most of us fall in love with the game in the first place. Our job is to protect the game and to protect your money, which we do day-in and day-out. But no one can protect you from bad beats. Nor can anyone protect other players when you suck out on them. That's poker.

We don't expect you to just take our word for it. The PokerStars RNG is audited and certified each and every year by Cigital, a leading IT security consulting firm. Hardware, software and source code have all been given the Cigital stamp of approval that they produce an entirely random shuffle.

Of course RNG is legit and 100% random. Its how their software uses this RNG. I want them to show us other things like EV of winning and losing players. Why bigger percent of regs run below EV and this of fishes above EV?

cause contrary on belief, some situations do not happen again in the long run, i mean theoretically they do, but i doubt you will reach that long run, its only natural that regs wont run on EV, just think about the loads of factors that can occur, a few million hands might not be enough

Anyways there is no such thing as "random" in the universe, we are just not developed enough to realize it, that's something Einstein and majority of physicists believe, its probably an existential question that will never be solved

i thought quantum mechanics was built on that

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen
