Almost four years have passed now after the famous weight loss bet between Mike Matusow and Ted Forrest. Yet, there he is as a winner, and four years later he still hasn't been paid!
This is also quite a bad moment to reveal that kind of stuff, as both Matusow and Forrest are 2014 Poker Hall of Fame finalists fighting for the spot on this prestigious list.
The bet itself was really intense to the point a lot of people were concerned about Forrest hurting himself permanently trying to accomplish it. Matusow made a bet for $100,000 at 18/1 that Forrest could lose 48 pounds in just 3 months. "I only made that bet because I didn't think it was feasibly possible," he later said to ESPN. "He starved himself for 11 days and ran 16 miles a day. He's lost all of the muscle around his heart. He could have a heart attack."
Forrest (who is also a six-time WSOP bracelet holder) posted on his last week Twitter: "Correcting the numbers: @themouthmatusow has payed me $70.500 of the 1.8million he owes me for the weight loss bet #4years."
Matusow came back fast enough to fire his own bullets: "I just got back on twitter to see all this Ted Forrest bullshit, in defense of myself I must tell the real truth". The real truth, according to Matusow, is that Forrest agreed to him paying $5,000 a month from his FTP salary. Since Matusow no longer receives any money from FTP after The Black Friday, he thinks it's fair that Forrest isn't getting any money anymore.
Then the offensive begins: "After it looked like he would win he went to Howard and full tilt demanding they pay his bet if he wins ,they laughed in his face. So stop lying to people about me in public or I will out you for the thief and crook you are ,take care my friend . Mike"
What is your opinion? Should Matusow still pay out Forrest his money?

Yes. he lost the bet plain and simple.
That's why I don't like to put big action with people that are even slightly suspect in paying out...sick edge on their side to win bets and never pay and Me paying out. |

Uhm, Forrest agreeing on a payment method does not mean that you no longer have to pay when your payment method is declined. |

All I know of Matusow is from what I see on television, and I wouldn't expect him to pay Forrest back. He has always seemed as slimy as snail shit. |

Nice original payment plan: $1,800.000 with 5,000 a month so the debt would be paid off in 30 years (counting no interest). With an interest of just 3,5% he would pay till infinity.
Blows my mind that he thinks losing his job is an excuse to void the debt. |
