<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Raidern/justice.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">Rational Group, PokerStars parent company, has appealed the May 17th court ruling that allowed the Atlantic Club to cancel the sale of the Atlantic City Casino. According to the original agreement, PokerStars needed licensing approval from New Jersey gaming regulators before April 26. On May 17, Judge Raymond Batten ruled that PokerStars’ failure to obtain the license entitled the Atlantic Club’s owners to back out from the deal and keep the $11m PS had already paid them. Rational Group’s appeal is based on a number of alleged errors made by the Judge related to the sales agreement resulting in a faulty ruling, including a “misconstrued” interpretation of the purchase agreement.

“Defendants believe that they can now sell the Atlantic Club to another buyer and wish to keep the $11 million paid to them by Rational,” PokerStars attorneys wrote in their appeal, adding that the judge, ruling in the court’s Chancery Division in Atlantic County, improperly considered testimony of a retired Superior Court judge and failed to “hold defendants to their duty to act in good faith.”

The state Divison of Gaming Enforcement announced Friday that all 12 casinos in Atlantic City have until June 30 to apply to offer online gambling in New Jersey. The state should start offering online gambling around December according to reports.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same
