Senator Harry Reid (D-Nev) is not optimistic about the prospects of the poker bill that has been recently introduced by Peter King (D-NY). “I felt for several months now that I don’t see any movement on this,” Reid told the Las Vegas Sun. “I don’t see anything happening.” In Reid's opinion the bill has a big problem: "it authorizes everything - 21, poker, everything," he said.
In 2006 the US Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, an anti-internet gambling law. Since then several attempts have been made at passing a federal law that authorizes and regulates poker, but no success so far.
Nevada Gaming Board urges Google Glass ban in all Casinos
The Nevada Gaming Commission issued a statement earlier this week urging al casinos to ban the use of Google Glass. In the statement the NGC says that the device could be used to share card information between players in poker and other table games. “While there is nothing specifically illegal regarding the possession and/or general use of these devices, the potential for inappropriate and/or illegal use in a casino does exist,” reads the statement.
Casino operators in Vegas, such as Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts, have instructed their workers to ask players to remove their glasses if they suspect it is being used to photograph or record. Last week, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement ordered NJ's casinos to implement a similar ban.
