The incident happened in 2010, but only now the sentencing took place. Around the fall of 2010, Tyler Schrier and Keith James Hudson got access to Sebok's e-mail account, stole intimate photographs and threatened to post the pictures on the internet in case Sebok and other victims didn't pay them. The other victims were identified in court only by their initials, and none of them made any payments.
Before Judge James Otero sentenced both men, Sebok addressed the court and said:
“In short, I was no longer able to maintain my then-current level of participation in the poker industry, representing the brands that I had been previously, as well as greatly destroying my ability to do so with new companies moving forward. Without belaboring the point too much, it was a nightmare, and one that I was forced to live through with millions of people watching.”
Tyler Schrier is 23 years old and will face 42 months in prison. Keith James Hudson is 39 years old and received two years in prison. There is also a third person involved, Ryder Finney. He already pled guilty but will be sentenced later this year. Finney faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
