During the fifth day of WSOP Europe, Antonio Esfandiari managed to outlast a field of 626 players during World Series of Poker Europe event #2. He won his second gold bracelet this year and third in his whole career.
In the heads up, Esfandiari beat French player Remi Bollengier and won €126,207 for the first place finisher. The event had a €1,100 buy-in.
This win also means that Antonio will move ahead in the 2012 WSOP Player of the Year rankings, surpassing past Greg Marson who is currently leading the list. However, Marson can still take back the title if he managed to finish World Series of Poker Main Event final table in October on at least 4th place.
Esfandiari has won more than $18.5 million only during WSOP tournaments this year. Majority of this score comes from a $18mln won during the richest poker tournament of all time, The Big one For One drop.
Full results for WSOPE Event 2 €1,100 No-Limit Hold’em:
1st: Antonio Esfandiari - €126,207
2nd: Remi Bollengier - €78,059

Yeah, nice performance from him. Too bad the last hand was such a disappointing tilt call from his opponent... |
