The 2012 World Series of Poker is set to start tomorrow in Cannes, France. Seven coveted WSOP bracelets will be up for grabs along with over 40 additional side events, including cash games and high roller events. The series will last through October 4. This is the 2nd time that the event is held in Cannes.
Obviously the most anticipated tournament is the €10,450 Main Event. It will run for six days, as it starts on Sept 29th and a new champion will be crowned on Oct 4. The Main Event attracted a 593 turnout last year, the largest field since the innaugural event held in 2007. Elio Fox, from USA, won €1,400,000 after defeating Chris Moorman heads-up.
The big news of this year's edition is the special €50,000 Re-Entry High Roller tournament, which is a non-bracelet event, but will definitely be one of the highlights of the series. This tournament will run for three days, kicking off on October 2.
All the tournaments will be streamed via WSOP.com, but most won't feature hole cards. The exception is the Main Event, which will be broadcast on a 15-minute delay and show hole cards during the final table action.
