Everest Poker to join iPoker Network
According to some rumors, Everest Poker is going to join the iPoker Network. Everest's traffic has been declining lately as it has lost about 30-40% of its cash game activity in the last few months. PokerScout's reports show that Everest.com has seven-day average of 570 cash game players, while its French site is doing better, with a seven-day average of 650 cash game players. Considering that iPoker is basically dead on France, it will be a nice addition to the network.
Recently the iPoker Network announced that it would split in two, creating additional tables exclusively for certain top-tier skins. It's not known if Everest Poker meets the requirements to make the cut. Currently only five or six skins are expected to have access to these additional tables. There's no official confirmation from Everest Poker on this rumor.
Phil Galfond on Isildur1
Phil 'OMGClayAiken' Galfond wrote a very thorough blog post with his views on Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom. Galfond organized his post in several topics, such Isildur1's breaking into the high stakes scene, how good he is, and his strengths and weakenesses. In the end of the blog post, Galfond makes it clear how much he respects Blom: In my opinion, Viktor Blom clearly has more raw poker talent than I do. That's a bold statement coming from one of the best poker players in the world.
MMA Star Georges St-Pierre has been recently announced as an official global brand ambassador for 888.com. His first tv commercial has gone live in Canada. I can confirm Everest rumors
It's been "in talk" for a couple of months now and I think it's almost a set deal now.
Also iPoker is launching its "top tiers" network from september 1st. The rooms that are in the top tiers network are: Titan (pretty obvious since it's basically owned by Playtech/iPoker), William Hill (also pretty much run by Playtech since their deal 2-3 years ago), Bet365, PaddyPower and Poker770.

I'd be surprised if they were part of the network. From what I know of EVP, they are far from meeting the requirements to join the top tiers network but since they leave their own network/software to join + they have "decent" liquidity on .fr, they might be able to negotiate it but I doubt the other big skins would agree
Everest/Betclic is so in deep shit that they need to leave their own network/software to continue operating, just so you have an idea of how bad their situation is
Rooms "sure" to join the top tiers: Titan, WH, Bet365, Paddy and Poker770
Decent Skins from iPoker that are sure NOT to join top tiers: Expekt (part of the betclic/everest group), Betfred, Mansion, Gala/Coral, Bluesquare etc... (got this info confirmed last week).
