American Dan Smith won 50,000 Super High Roller at EPT Barcelona Sunday night for 962,925. The event was the first of Season 9 of the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour - and the richest tournament ever held in Spain.
A total of 55 players entered the event - plus nine reloads - creating a prize pool of 3,072,960.
The Super High Roller event was filmed for TV with the final table broadcast live on PokerStars.tv.

Russian player Liya Gerasimova has won the 550 EPT Barcelona Ladies Event for 10,700 after beating a 63-strong field. Gerasimova, the girlfriend of Team PokerStars Pro Ivan Demidov, made a remarkable final table comeback to win the title and PokerStars Women trophy.
At one point, Gerasimova, who came fourth in the 2009 PCA High Roller event for $91,300, had less than one big blind, but a three-hand series of double-ups put her back in contention once again.
A total of 63 players competed in the 550 tourney, among them PokerStars Women qualifiers Jan 'jamjars69' Combes and Claudia 'Dasultanz' Csongei.
