After 10 days the 2012 WSOP Main Event final table has finally been set. Unlike recent years, this year's final table is vastly dominated by Americans. Jesse Sylvia from Texas leads a group of eight Americans and one Hungarian and looks to become the next world champion. As we reported yesterday, Day 7 kicked off with 27 players playing for a seat at the final table. In spite of holding a sizable stack, day 6 chip leader Marc Ladouceur surprisingly failed to make it to the final table, hitting the rail in 13th place ($465,159). Gaelle Baumann, the last woman in the tournament, entered the day as the 20th stack and was eliminated in 10th place ($590,442) after losing an all-in with A9 against Koroknai's AJ.

The chip leader entering the final table is Jesse Sylvia, who holds a massive 43,875,000 stack. That's about 14,000,000 more than the 2nd largest stack, owned by Andras Koroknai from Hungary. Greg Merson is 3rd in chips. He's played a fantastic day 7 and is now considered one of the favorites to take the title as he holds 28,725,000 chips. Merson is looking to win his 2nd WSOP bracelet this year. He took over the WSOP Player of the Year lead from Phil Ivey and has a good chance of winning that award. Now, the players will have 102 days to enjoy success and improve their games, as the tournament will take a three-month break. The final table will be played on October 29-30, at the Rio in Las Vegas.

Each finalist has guaranteed a $754,798 payout. The Main Event winner will collect a $8,527,982 first prize, as well as a special bracelet made of gold and diamond.

This is how the table will look like when they meet again in October:

Seat 1: Russell Thomas (24,800,000 in chips)
Seat 2: Jacob Balsiger (13,115,000 in chips)
Seat 3: Jeremy Ausmus (9,805,000 in chips)
Seat 4: Steven Gee (16,860,000 in chips)
Seat 5: Greg Merson (28,725,000 in chips)
Seat 6: Jesse Sylvia (43,875,000 in chips)
Seat 7: Robert Salaburu (15,155,000 in chips)
Seat 8: Andras Koroknai (29,375,000 in chips)
Seat 9: Michael Esposito (16,260,000 in chips)

I'm fairly surprised that this hasn't made it to local (mainstream) media already, there have usually been reports of hungarian players' poker successes in the past. This is clearly the biggest to date.

And of course, one could always hope for even more fish that this would attract

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.

no way he gets replaced

I've heard everyone gets 9th place money now, and then just receives the difference based on what place they finish at - not 100% sure thou.

As for the chips, I remember reading about it a year ago, but can't recall what it was .

Chip leader (Jesse) and 9th place (Jeremy - AKA TheTaker online) are both HS cash regs at Bellagio. Both nice guys. The only other player I recognize is Greg Merson (Gregy and then some #s online) who just took down the 10k 6max event for like 1mill+.

In any interaction, you either gain share or lose share. So treat every interaction as kind of a precious moment in time. -Mitt Romney
