Italy, France, Spain, Portugal Discuss Possible Shared Liquidity
Regulators from Spain, Italy, France and Portugal have met in June and discussed the possibilities of a shared liquidity in certain games. The regulators wanted to confirm their "common willingness to promote an operational cooperation in the field of regulation and enhancing exchanges of information.”
Italy, France and Spain operate with a segregated player pool, and the first two have recently experienced a drop in player numbers in online poker. Although meetings between regulators are nothing new, the mention of shared liquidity suggests a positive change of direction for online poker in Europe.
The four regulators will meet again in December 2012 to continue discussions.
