The most prestigious poker series in Brazil, Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), is now part of the distinguished PokerStars global tournament calendar, which includes some of the world’s biggest poker circuits, such as the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT), the European Poker Tour (EPT) and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures (PCA).

The first PokerStars-sponsored BSOP event will take place in São Paulo from July 26-31 at the Holiday Inn, Parque Anhembi. Players can qualify online at PokerStars.net via freeroll satellite tournaments.

Team PokerStars Pro André Akkari said “Incredible news! It will be great to travel all over Brazil playing in the outstanding BSOP circuit. This is a truly unique opportunity to see the growing poker scene all over the country”.

David Carrion, Director for Live operations in Latin America, added “Our method is to add value to BSOP structure, the same way we do in all tournaments sponsored by PokerStars.net. We expect to attract bigger tournament fields, by offering more chances to qualify online for free, and therefore increasing participation from many more enthusiasts of the sport”.

Igor Trafane, BSOP CEO, says that the partnership between the tournament and PokerStars will only benefit Brazilian poker. “Now we count on a community of 49 million players in the world. Besides the number of participants, we’ll increase the technical level of the circuit, with more Brazilian players and possibly foreign players”, he analyzes. The news is also supported by the Brazilian Poker Confederation (CBTH).

It will be a great opportunity for tourism in Brazil, the BSOP currently has stops in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza and Balneário Camboriú.

yes that makes sense, but here nothing makes sense

srsly...? -_-

tax on prizes =/= tax on profit

if I had to pay tax on prizes on Pokerstars I would owe 1.5 million dollars right now
