It’s only day five of the inaugural TCOOP, but the turbo-charged festival is already 19 events down with four more to come later today. Here you can find a short recap of every event that already took place!
TCOOP-01
As a follow-up to the first TCOOP event on Thursday, the amazing news has emerged that two players – ‘Team Sexy14’ from Canada and ‘MalkierKing’ from Bulgaria – both won five-figure amounts after getting their free $22 TCOOP tickets through the reload deposit offer. The Canadian player came second and earned $41,025.65, while the player from Bulgaria came third for $40,747.39.
TCOOP-05
On to Friday’s action and the day kicked off with a $22 PL Draw tourney, which attracted 3,010 players. That made for a prize pool of $60,200 and a first prize of just under $10k. However, that figure was adjusted slightly when the final four players did a deal that leveled out the payouts somewhat. First place went to ‘chismann’ from Germany who pocketed $6,680.52, while third-placed ‘zokete’ from Spain received the largest prize of $6,712.45.
TCOOP-06
The first NL Hold’em shootout tourney of TCOOP saw 3,994 players stump up the $55 buy-in for the 6-Max event. That made for a prize pool of $199,700 – a fraction shy of double the $100k guarantee. Two Team PokerStars Pros – Alex Kravchenko and Matthias de Meulder – fell just short of the final table, coming seventh and ninth respectively, to earn $1,397.90 each. In the end, ‘Ghoulio’ from Austria put the frighteners on his final table opponents to take the crown and grab the $31,953.44 first prize.
TCOOP-07
This $22+R NL Hold’em event, with a $400,000 guarantee, saw a prize pool of Sunday Major levels by the time the rebuy period was over. A massive 10,381 players combined to generate a prize pool of $529,920, with $75k up for first place. In less than five hours that top prize was taken by ‘jmc8609’ from Canada, who defeated ‘Petrov78’ from Sweden, heads-up.
TCOOP-08
It was ‘_JMCD_89’ from the UK who won the last tournament on Friday, after topping the field of 4,936 players in the $82 NL Hold’em [Big Antes, 2x Chance] event. A deal was done four-handed that left the winner with $68,000, while third-placed ‘Scarypooper5’ secured the second highest amount of $49,291.34.
TCOOP-09
As if turbo levels didn’t create enough action, just watch what happens when PL Omaha is thrown into the equation. This $55 PLO Knockout event was first out of the gates on Saturday, with 3,770 players in the running. It meant the prize pool reached $154,570 with additional $37,700 in bounties up for grabs and it took just over four hours to crown a winner – that player being ‘Baja272’ from Denmark, who trousered $17,583.39 after a five-way deal was cut.
TCOOP-10
The smaller buy-in events have brought some massive fields so far, and this $11+R NL Hold’em [3x- Turbo] was no exception with 12,636 entries, 39,225 rebuys and 6,072 add-ons. Just six hours later it was all over, as ‘StøvsugerN’ from Denmark shipped his way to victory and a first prize of $59,812.71. Second-placed ‘Pokerboelie’ received a touch more – $60,632.06 – and there was a fifth-place finish for well-known online pro Jon ‘apestyles’ Van Fleet.
TCOOP-11
At eight and a half hours duration, this $109 NL Hold’em Heads-Up event has been the longest so far. But it was more than worth it for the two players who made it to the final after 11 straight heads-up wins. The winner of the 12th match and overall champion was ‘Cejakas14’ from the UK, who did a chop with ‘uldano’ from Hungary, and took the first prize of $38,290.
TCOOP-12
The $33 Triple Stud tourney attracted a field of 1,720 to create a prize pool of $51,600, which was more than double the guarantee. Winner after just less than four hours’ play was ‘LAMBTON’ from Canada, who received the adjusted first prize of $5,432.64 after a five-way chop. Swedish player ‘Paokgeorge’, who came third, received $7,628 – the highest share of the quintet.
TCOOP-13
The final event on Saturday saw 8,019 players register for the $33 NL Hold’em contest. It meant the prize guarantee was more than doubled, with $240,420 in the pot when registration closed. After nearly four and a half hours’ play, ‘PURGER111’ from Switzerland emerged the victor, taking home the $32,257.24 first prize after doing a deal with ‘CaffeJoe’ from Israel when heads-up.
TCOOP-14
An early start (08.30 ET) for the first event of Sunday, and there were plenty of early risers, as 1,321 players registered for the $55 NL Omaha Hi/Lo [6-Max, 2R1A] tourney to nearly triple the prize guarantee. The $144,650 in the prize pool provided plenty of incentive for the final-tablists and it was ‘phatlat’ from Canada who took full advantage to pocket $22,326.55 – his share of a two-way deal.
TCOOP-15
For those players who find even turbos too slow for their liking, the $55 NL Hold’em [6-Max, Hyper Turbo] yesterday provided the kind of lightning-fast bust-outs that can make poker so much fun. In just two and a half hours 6,928 players were whittled down to just one – the champion, ‘ocropTi’ from Germany, winning $48,000 from the overall prize pool of $373,419.20.
TCOOP-16
The third Knockout tourney of TCOOP saw 12,270 players register for the $55 NL Hold’em tourney, creating a prize pool of $503,070 with $122,700 in bounties up for grabs – more than double the $200k guarantee. Last man standing when the final hand played out was Toby ‘810ofclubs’ Lewis from the UK. Lewis is one of the UK’s top pros and came to prominence after winning EPT Vilamoura in August 2010 for €467,836. Yesterday he added another $68,676.15 to his bankroll and a TCOOP title to his list of achievements.
TCOOP-17
This $109 NL Hold’em cubed event garnered 3,357 entries, 2,529 rebuys and 1,073 add-ons, which helped create a prize pool of $695,900 and a six-figure score awaiting the winner. In the end a three-way deal changed that payout slightly, as ‘8r0k34SS’ from Canada saw off his other final table competitors to register a $97,498.55 payday.
TCOOP-18
The penultimate tourney yesterday was a $22+R PL Omaha [6-Max, 2x-Turbo] event with $150k guaranteed. That figure was easily smashed though, as by the time the rebuy period finished, there was $361,580 in the prize pool. German player ‘arxigos’ topped the field after less than four hours, to take the $55,143.65 first prize money.
TCOOP-19
Sunday’s action wrapped up with another super fast-paced hyper-turbo, featuring a $215 buy-in. A field of 2,724 players turned out for it to create a prize pool of $574,219.20. After 1 hour 59 minutes, ‘alberto ka’ from Brazil emerged the winner and beneficiary of the $90,728.44 first prize. That means he earned just over $762 per minute!
