Gabriel Campos, PokerStars CEO, has decided to step down from his position. The decision will be effective on February 1st. Campos took on his CEO position on PokerStars in October, 2010, after parting ways with 888 Poker. PokerStars is already looking for a replacement. It's another important loss for PokerStars, as EPT founder John Duthie also left the company earlier this year.

PokerStars announcement: PokerStars announced today that Gabi Campos has decided to step down from his position as Chief Executive Officer, effective Feb. 1, 2012, to pursue other opportunities. The company thanks Gabi for his hard work and commitment and wishes him the best in all his future endeavors. A search for Gabi’s replacement is under way.

Ira Rubin pleads guilty to Conspiracy

Ira Rubin, a payment processor for sites such as PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Ultimate Bet/Absolute Poker, pleaded guilty to facilitating hundreds of millions of dollars in online poker transactions. Rubin is one of the eleven people indicted by the Department of Justice on April 15. He was charged with nine counts, but only plead guilty to three. Rubin will be sentenced on May 17, and he will face a prison term of 18 to 24 months, according to his plea agreement.

FTP, GBT and DOJ continue to work on final agreement

It's been a while we don't have any update about FTP and unfortunately this one isn't very solid either. It's reasonable that the deal take long to be concluded, as FTP's sale is a complex transaction. FTP has to transfer its assets to GBT with the DOJ playing the middle man, and each party involved has to be sure that the other parties will act accordingly. Poker-King.com spoke to an anonymous source close to the situation who said that the deal is "absolutely on track". According to the site, lawyers for FTP, GBT, and the DOJ are still working out details and putting the deal to paper. Take this news for what it is, a positive rumor.

I'm curious as to the situation with Stars and higher ups leaving, and how that correlates with the recent rake changes they have been trying to do (or did in .fr sites)

Say this outloud! Why was six afraid of seven?......Because Seven Eight Nine

I guess its reasonable to assume FTP wont be back for at least 3-4 more months and possibly more. I was really hoping they would pay the players back sooner and I still hope they do, but its looking grim. I suppose getting it back at all is a positive, but I wish they would just speed this shit up.
