I'm a donk, and if I shouldn't post here anymore simply say so and I won't post again in your hands.
If you check, you're almost always going to lose this hand. No? And you will usually have to fold to any turn card and you've lost your aggression and given whatever he's holding more strength.
The only way to walk away from this with a win is to bet now on the flop, hoping you may be putting pressure on him to say not only do I have a great hand due to my pre-flop re-raise, but I also may have a great draw. With your early aggression you should keep that up to walk away with a win, no?
If you check here, will you bluff a straight or flush if it hits? You have 4 cards that help you, and 2 that help you but put you into sort of tricky positions.
So, if you bet... it's the only real way to defend what you've already put in and keep the image of your pre-flop action.
That said I think this hand in this scenario is in a losing situation though and is tough pressed to find a +EV scenario for this.
I would say keep the image of your strong raise and raise the flop strongly, and fold and cry if it is re-raised. Which is very likely.
But what do you think gives you the best odds of winning this hand? If you say he 4-bets PF with QQ+ every time, why re-raise him pre-flop with AK if you are not going to keep up with the aggressive image?
My apologies for the long post by a donk. But, I don't understand why so many good players here give such simple answers without talking about it. I guess because they've discussed it enough and know far better. But meh. When one guy says "check" and the other guy says "bet" it doesn't really help the situation.
What i'd see is, "sakisaki did a nit play and didn't follow through, yet probably saved himself money, and Yugless played poker". |
