Can someone help me understand his gameplan here? Esp. the flop x/c.

Guy is a regular.

The flop c/c seems bad to me. I think I understand his (probable) line of thinking for doing it. I suppose he thinks he has too much equity to just c/f and doesn't like the prospect of barreling when a lot of his outs could be tainted when he makes them on the river.

I still think he's better off barreling or just c/f'ing. I would rather c/c something that already has some SD or could have some SD by the turn..

online bob is actually a pretty smart person, not at all like the creepy fucker that sits in the sofa telling me he does nasty shit to me when im asleep - pinballLast edit: 01/12/2015 21:15

I like his line I think; he probably checks this flop with most hands

-_- He doesn't even have a gutshot wtf. Very clearly superior to bet fold or c/f to this. C/c this he's never gonna have a turn he can raise, so he's gonna c/c oop again with no showdown value when he hits one of his draws? And he's gonna hit a dominated draw as often as not anyway.

Plus he has 0 sd value so when we fold AQ46 here it's a huge win.

Preflop horrible, flop horrible, turn ok I guess he has to, river yeah fine.

Hm.. Off-suite socks..

i really dont see how he can have any real plan here other than turning his hand into a bluff.

seems like wreckless spew from my pov

Wouldn't call it wreck less spew; he has over 30% on average vs the 3bet caller's flop betting range when checked to. By checking he can always call. If villain bets and gets c/r on flop he is always folding a nice piece of equity since he can't call (equity ain't that good but more importantly no nut potential really - ranges are quite wide on flop initially after BU open and sb 3b but a flop raise here will tighten significantly to where our hand no longer plays well, or well enough).

Things on turn will be pretty well defined too for us while our hands will be fairly disguised to villain. Half the deck gives us a FD or 4 to continue if villain bets again. The other half we can fold or if it checks through bluff river.

River people are barelling wide enough that you can just c/c all ur hits and let villain rep your hand; or even lead some king high flushes/straights when u hit.

I wouldn't say he can raise no turns with this line; villain will have a clearly +ev turn c/r on the 4d but I don't feel that is extremely important.

That said I'd prob fold flop and maybe even pre in ring. I just think his play is closer to slightly losing than massively losing and that is what I imagine his thought process to be with that line. That or he just put hero on some wrap around the 810

Results oriented here but villain did have a +ev call at each point pre river.

I just think this looks worse to some straight NL players than it really is.

Well, thanks all for opinions. Quentin you got me with your first comment

I felt like it was horrible but also thought this guy was a winner, so wanted to understand the situation better.

What traxamillion says might probably be a plan with a somewhat more reasonable hand, that can x/c flop, but cant b/c (eventhough i have trouble coming up with such a range for this flop tbh).
